Usually, Samsung launches slightly different versions of its foldable smartphones in China. They even lack the Galaxy branding. Now, it is being reported that Samsung will launch Chinese variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the country.
According to an image published by tipster Ice Universe (@universeice), Samsung and China Telecom are launching the W23 and the W23 Flip in the country. The W23 is the Chinese version of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, while the W23 Flip is the Chinese variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Both these smartphones will have largely similar designs to their international counterparts.
There could be a slight change in hardware specifications, though. According to Ice Universe, these two foldable smartphones could feature 16GB of RAM, similar to the W22 that was launched last year. The Chinese market is focused on specifications, and almost all Android flagships released recently feature 16GB of RAM, and Samsung’s foldable smartphones might look like a downgrade to some if they didn’t.
These will be unlocked versions of the devices, and we will get more information about their specifications as soon as the smartphones are launched later this month. Do you think Samsung should offer 16GB RAM in all its high-end phones, even in markets outside of China? Let us know in the comments section below.
